Review by hotel critic
During my recent escape to Florence, I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Porta Faenza, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. Nestled on the charming Via Faenza, the hotel boasts a delightful medieval charm while seamlessly incorporating modern comforts-something I always appreciate as a photographer and a lover of design. The superior double room was both spacious and elegantly appointed, with a gorgeous tile floor and exposed beams that transported me back in time, yet offered all the essential amenities. My favorite touch was the luxurious bathroom featuring a bathtub, perfect for unwinding after a long day of exploring the city. Breakfast was delightful; the spread included local cured meats and delectable pastries, a perfect fuel for a day filled with visits to the nearby Duomo and other iconic sites, all within easy walking distance. And let's not forget about the unbeatable location, just a short stroll from the Santa Maria Novella train station-ideal for getting around without the hustle. The staff were welcoming and attentive, always saying 'buongiorno' with a smile, making me feel right at home. If you're looking for not just a place to stay but an authentic Florentine experience, I can wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Porta Faenza-trust me; you won't regret it!
